Redwood National Park in California.

Created in 1968, Redwood National Park, is located in the northwestern part of the state of California and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. Redwood National Park has one of the oldest redwoods in the world.

Within 60 miles of California coastline and historic parks with four inside, Redwood National Park protects nearly half of the redwood forests of the west coast of the United States.

After deforestation began with the Gold Rush and the growth of the metropolis of San Francisco in the mid-nineteenth century, when in 1968 he founded the park and almost 90% of the forests were gone. Today, walking among these giants of nature suggest another time when life was much quieter. Well know its inhabitants, ranging from black bears, even some species of owls, to endangered frogs.

Also, Redwood National Park is famous for hosting immense trees, known as «Sequoias», which can measure up to more than 100 m and 11 m in diameter, as well as one of the ecological zones for the conservation of flora and wildlife in the United States.

Similarly, the broad nature paradise encompasses a 64 km strip of coastal territory of great beauty on the Pacific where there are many old virgin redwood forests, lush vegetation dominated by pine, Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, and in some areas, azaleas and rhododendrons.

It is also possible to find hotels and lodges in the areas surrounding the Redwood National Park, where you can relax after a hectic hike.
