The monastery of Wadi Qelt Valley in Israel

Wadi Qelt is a desert valley that crosses the desert of Judea in Israel, reaching close to the dead sea. In it, a curious Monastery located on a cliff called Saint George is located among other historical ruins, and ancient synagogues.

El Wadi Qelt moves from West to East, draining a significant part of the northern part of the Judean desert. Wadi is close to the main route from Jericho to Jerusalem, «Ascent of Adumim (ascent of Adumim).» The Wadi Qelt is quite deep and a barrier for traffic, travellers must pass along the same instead of crossing it. Accessible by a pedestrian bridge across the Valley of Wadi Qelt, is open to pilgrims and visitors in an area which in past decades was not free of conflict, something that has contributed to its diffusion and to receive a greater number of visitors.
